The Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) is one of the flagship projects of the current administration. Conceived as an important alternative to the world's busiest maritime routes, it is intended to be an integral logistics platform - just like the Maya Train or the Dos Bocas Refinery - that can become a trigger for economic and social development in the southeast of the country.
According to the current government, the Interoceanic Train passes through areas of the southeast with similar characteristics. These are hundreds of communities located around the more than 1,300 kilometers of railroad that will cross the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz and Tabasco, entities that have historically suffered from economic backwardness and inequality.
The idea of generating infrastructure projects with a social vision, as President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has repeatedly mentioned, is unthinkable without creating the basic conditions to attract investments that will generate real prosperity.
On December 22, the first section of the CIIT was inaugurated, a 227-kilometer rail line that will connect the Pacific and Atlantic oceans at the ports of Salina Cruz, in Oaxaca, and Coatzacoalcos, in Veracruz, where nine development poles will be established, affecting more than 79 municipalities in both states and more than 9,000 localities.
With the arrival of new companies in these areas, the demand for basic services will increase, which in many places is not yet met. It is very important to work with the government to have the necessary infrastructure to create the real estate developments that will be needed, such as industrial and commercial buildings, housing, clinics and services.

At ADI, we are aware of the role we play in the economic growth of the country. Therefore, we are always ready and willing to invest in projects that have a multiplying and beneficial effect for Mexico.
However, in order to achieve this goal, it is necessary for the sector to have essential guarantees that give certainty to investments, as well as a series of incentives, law compliances above all, security.
Today, we are approaching an electoral process that, as every six years, will bring with it a lot of uncertainty about the lack of continuity, which, in addition to the above, may be an obstacle to the objectives to be achieved with these projects.
Therefore, to the extent that the government is able to guarantee from now on a public policy that really encourages the arrival of capital in the country, and that public-private alliances can be created to strengthen the investment and development capacity in this region, economic development can become a tangible reality for those communities that see in these works an opportunity for economic and social progress.
